It’s official! Tom Hanks is an oyaji at heart! And here’s the proof! Tom Hanks was in Japapn promoting his film “Sully.” Hanging around Tokyo, on September 16, he went out to a restaurant to try out the delicious Japanese food. As turns out, Tom Hanks mingled perfectly with the locals, to the point that he took a selfie with his new friends. We’re sure that these Japanese men didn’t expect to be viewed by 12.1 million followers Hanks has in his Twitter account!
So, what did Tom Hanks have for dinner?
Fortunately for us, another Japanese who was also taking dinner in the same place has put a shot of Hanks in his Instagram account. So, what did he eat? Can we eat the same in Tokyo and in the same place? Is it expensive?
Tom Hanks had soba! A bowl of soba at Kanda Matsuya, the restaurant he visited, costs around 1,000 yen (that’s around $9USD!) So, Hanks took a delicious meal for a very fair price!
Where can you find Kanda Matsuya? Here:
Tokyo-to, Chiyoda-ku, Kanda Sudacho 1-13
It opens from 11am to 8pm from Monday to Friday; and from 11am to 7pm on Saturdays. It’s closed on Sundays.
