As a lot of you know, Sword Art Online took the anime community by storm when it first came out. The anime is based off of a series of light novels that were written by Kawahara Reki. It was picked up for publication in April of 2009 with ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko. The anime started in July of 2012, and it was produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Tomohiko Ito. It was so popular that a second season was in the works and Sword Art Online II aired in July of 2014.
The third season is making a lot of buzz in the anime community with the release slated for summer of this year. I can guarantee there will be new figures around the corner but for now, let’s look at some popular figures from the series that are ready to purchase. These are must have figurines in your collection! Let’s take a look at them together!
We begin with Sword Art Online II – Sinon – Nendoroid (#452).
This is from Good Smile Company’s popular Nendoroid line. It stands at 3.9 inches tall. The sculptors for this figure are Nendoron and Shirasaki Isao. Both of them have sculpted many other Nendoroid figurines. Its materials are ABS and ATBC-PVC. Its original price was between $40 to $60 USD. However, its recent pricing goes from $65 USD to $100 USD depending on its condition. Unlike other Nendoroids it only comes with one alternate faceplate. It has her sniper rifle PGM Ultima Ratio Hecate II that comes with an attachable part resembling firing bullets as well as alternate joint parts for her arms and legs. It was released in December of 2014.
Sinon is the new protagonist who fights along Kirito during the GGO arc. Although she went through a lot in her childhood, she finds her calling through the game. She is a strong character and not to mention a pretty good shot too.
Our next figure is Sword Art Online- Sinon- 1/7.
This figure was manufactured by Aquamarine and distributed by Good Smile Company. It stands at 8.3 inches tall and is a 1/7 scale figure. The sculptor was Toda Satoshi who has worked for companies such as Principality of Kagutsuchino and Gift. The color producer was Hoshina Eimi who has worked for companies like Megahouse and Embrace Japan. It is made from ABS and PVC. Its original release was in July of 2015 but it is set for a re-release in February of this year, which is a sign that this figure was very popular and would be a good opportunity for people to buy it again. Its price goes from $110 to $130 USD. Her only accessory is her gun but the main point of the figure is the size and the detail. Her pose may be calm and relaxed but she would be quick to shoot anything in her path in a split second.
